    Smile My Room(s)

    Hello fellow habbox's

    First of all before I continue any further I'd like to thank the staff of habbox for maintaining such a great website it really has helped me over the last couple of weeks since I came back to habbo from a few year break and most importantly to all the habbox users out there, the site really wouldn't be the same without some of the faces I've came to "know" over the last couple of weeks of snooping the forums. Now to get back on-topic

    My Room(s) :

    Having so many wild ideas and ambitions of rooms to create yet so little credits to spare its been hard work over the last couple of weeks trying to make my gigantic dreams become reality. I've had to scale the size of my first project down from a mammoth sized city down to a small grabber room for the mean time till I get back on track. I will be keeping this topic updated in the future with all my room designs whenever I get some more built however until then enjoy this journey of mine

    Bioshock Rapture City :

    Ever since I laid eyes on the game Bioshock the architecture of the "Rapture City" has intrigued me. Having a random notion one day not so long ago to check out habbo after having stopped playing back in 2005 it came to my attention I could no longer access my old accounts (weither that has to do with the merge or what I do not know, even the 'forget password' email wouldn't show up in my inbox) so I was forced to create a new account and get in contact with sulake in hope of them returning my two ancient accounts to me! Being niave like everyone is at times I thought this would take a matter of hours however as the hours turned into days I realized this may take longer than I thought (Damn you sulake customer support, stop drinking pixel vodka and practicing pixel voodoo in those swamp infested rooms) so inevitably the creative side of me wanted to start building and building and building some more. Now where does a newly returned habbo get credits without spending too much? Sulake has kindly implemented a feature I thought should have been there years ago, Surveys !

    So I took to the survey pages like a cruise ship setting sail, Starting them, Filling them out, Finishing them, Rinse & Repeat ad infinitum expecting to have boat loads of gold to spend on building my city however as what happened to the titanic my cruise took a downturn leaving its last port of call survey 32872387 setting sail for epic fail, I recieved a measly 7c from all those surveys for whatever reasons I was only credited for 2 of the surveys

    It became apparent to me that I would need to scale down my vision of a towering city expanding many rooms linked together underwater would turn out more like a pond in a drought stricken area. Back to the drawing board I went asking myself "How can I turn what I have into something that I can make even a small room out of"

    Well the answer lay before me, Order some credits and start a little Casino praying on those gambling addicts. I got off to a really rough start after opening up as it seems the god of water, Poseidon and the creator of Rapture City in Bioshock, Andrew Ryan, Had teamed up and plotted against me by making me lose every single game of 13 & 21 on the first day, Not even ONE win was recorded on my part as the dealer. Bankrupting myself in the process I had a hard choice to make. Do I order myself another batch of coins and stand my ground while risking this epic tag team comprised of Poseidon and Andrew Ryan showing up to throttle me again or do I change tactics and go invest in a few furni to myself into a habbo trader, The answer was obvious to me, Pack up shop and become a trader !

    This is where my epic journey collides with habbox. Having no idea what the prices of furni were these days and with marketplace being too expensive for anyone with a bit of common sense to judge true trade values I went on search of a site that would tell me what I needed to know and so I found habbox (after making my eyes bleed at many many fail sites). As the days went by I slowly started to make my empire of furni, Starting off with a few hc sofas, I soon had a lot of dividers which in turn allowed me to purchase some rare teles and make a tidy profit all along the road. As I kept this up I was slowly collecting the desired furni for my little city one by one until the fateful day arrived when I had enough inventory to build my little dream.

    I set about determining the ideal size for what I had and what I could do with it only to be rather taken aback when I realized all I could do was make it a measly little 103 tile room, All those coins spent on VIP to gain access to those über room designs to take a back seat however I was not deterred at all this only pushed me on harder to make the most of what I had and how I could make an investment it is then and only then I realised the popular game 'Grabber' may be a wise choice, there's fairly decent odds of making a profit and once word spreads your a fair dealer and not a scammer the people will come flooding in I thought to myself.

    It took two days of positing furni, picking it all up, re-positioning, picking it all back up until I FINALLY , I had the room laid out in such a way it it seemed spacious yet fitted with the style of Rapture City/Bioshock that you could do in habbo and here it is, Yes it may be small, Yes I have just wrote a biography on this TINY 103 tile room however in my eyes it's magnificent with alot of blood sweat and tears having being put into this epic adventure. Feel free to criticize, diss, applaud, anything you like as I'm open to all suggestions even the most unlikely ! I've still yet to find the 'ideal' moodlight setting to blend in with the room however the one I'm using at the moment will do for now till that fateful day when I tinker around with it enough to reach perfection !

    Erm, it's a little boring and the furni is very random? Idk, nice try but I don't think it's brilliant, and there are many other grabbers which are better.

    Thanks for the feedback and there probably is other grabbers out there that are better, as for the random furni. Which are you talking about? All the furni chosen is as best as I could get with the theme of what was in Bioshock.

    Quite a long paragraph, perhaps leave it short and sweet.. Although I'm not very fond of that room, sorry.

    Yeah it did turn out quite a long post Any particular reason why your not very fond of the room? Posted it in hope of constructive criticism so I can possibly improve with my future creations.

    I'm not sure, it's just a unusual design..

    Well rapture is quite unusual, its an under water city based in the 50-60's, that's the main reason I went for the hcc sofa and chairs, they fit in along the lines of the style from then along with the under water, the room isn't quite how I'd have liked it to turn out but I'll hopefully get to where I can build an actual rapture expanding across a few rooms some point in the near future. Maybe then I'll be able to convey it in better light as this really is quite small. Out of interest have you played or saw Bioshock before?
