They're recently updated the stats apparently, so more people want it. Plus it looks cool and it's a barrows weapon/armour.. Which everyone wants.

w00t I used to have full, but I was merchanting.
Basically full ahrims robes has about the same defence of rune plate, legs + helm, so mage armour thats o.O!! Ahrims staff has a +60 crush stat, and is decently quick. So i can hit 15's with the staff if my runes run out

I had 70 attack and then 70 mage.. It took me 3 days on rock crabs to get defence from 65 to 70
