Finally got my laptop into a usable state in Linux, somehow it was easier in Fedora than Ubuntu lol...
Switchable graphics cards were the worst, I don't intend on using the discrete GPU in Linux though so I just disabled the entire thing, battery life, heat and fan noise are fixed. Now I just need to get the middle button of my TrackPoint working as the scroll button like in Windows.

Managed to get my MacBook working after jumping through a million hoops to restore the firmware. It involved a Hackintosh (which required a million and one hoops to jump through) before I could even get started >_>
