I'm a computer a gaming salesperson and we only stock Belkin routers, other ones are pretty basic and cost. I also know we have routers that arent capable of those speeds so i thought i'd throw it in there. Also, i suggested switching to wired and using a router as an alternative. Don't get me wrong but

You lost me there. You're selling crap and I wouldn't go to you to buy anything. Belkin are utter tripe and if a router isn't capable of pulling 8Mbps down there is something seriously wrong. Linksys/Cisco and Neatgear both cost more than a Belkin router, you get what you pay for.I'm a computer a gaming salesperson and we only stock Belkin routers, other ones are pretty basic and cost. Best way to fix this: QoS. If your router doesn't have QoS functions, ugrade your firmware to a modified 3rd party one, for example DD-WRT. This is what I'm using on my router, it adds a lot more functionality to your once dying router.
