On a slightly less corporate note; most of those are indie devs who are trying to make app development into a profession, I'm sure that you can relate to such theft, like if someone ripped off your code, plagerised it.. whatever. I guess it's the end of the world when someone uses your code in their project but it's ok for someone to steal apps? I can understand doing it to larger companies if you genuinely can't afford it but don't steal from the indys.
Lion wasn't pirated. As that's on my main rig and is relatively cheap I forked over the cash for it. Windows well, not so much. That laptop came with Vista which I did not want. I think it's safe to say 99% of the forum downloads either music, movies or software illegally. People (other Canadians) tell me we don't actually have many laws prohibiting us from doing it where as we commonly hear of American citizens being sued for downloading movies (though even there it's not very common to see trouble out of it).
I'm not crazy, ask my toaster.

I wasn't so much bothered by the legalities of it all, I was more bothered really by the double standards you have when people rip off your code. Most apps are produced by Indy devs.

Oh I see. Fair enough to say then I suppose though I think a lot of devs are guilty of that double standard

True, just something to think about when you're mercilessly "acquiring" the apps, perhaps you'll send them a penny or two out of pity or something.
