Question Anyone else have this problem?

I've ordered a new computer so it isn't much of a problem, but it does confuse me.

The keyboard on my laptop randomly switches to and from the UK and US settings, moving the @ symbol from above the ' symbol to above the number 2.

It's a relatively new laptop, so I'm not sure why it's doing this.

I'm thankful it doesn't move the actual letters around, that could be a problem!

I guess that there are worse problems to have with computers!

Has this happened to anyone else?

    Are you using Windows 7?

Go to Control Panel > Clock, Language and Region > Change keyboards or other input methods

Then you can choose what language it should be in (whether it is US or UK).

I had a similar problem when I reinstalled XP on my parents laptop, forgot to change it from US to UK which confused the hell out of my mother

I've tried that, but it still does it.

Ah well, new computer soon enough!

Happened to me once or twice, often easily fixable, however you say the above method didn't fix it. What OS are you using?
