    Default Minecraft 1.8 Adventure Edition - Monday Release

    Brand spanking new features:

    Terrain Generation Features:
    - Larger caverns (More of chasms)
    - Long empty trenches of land
    - Rivers
    - More and larger biomes (Swamps!)
    - More/Bigger Mountains
    - Bigger dungeons
    - Abandoned mines
    Farming / Food:
    - More meat! Chicken, Cows and Pigs all drop meat
    - Watermelons (Hella yeah)
    Blocks:
    - Flat Glass (Looks flatter)
    - Stone bricks (Like smooth stone sorta?) - And mossy variant
    - Vines, grow in swampy ish areas and on trees and stuff, not climbable
    Lighting:
    - Looks smootherer
    Mobs:
    - Pigs have snouts, it looks like a button, if you hit it with a sword it drops meat.
    - Cave spiders - Reskinned blue spiders
    Experience and Hunger
    - Gain XP so that you can catch 'em all? (No benefits yet)
    - Hunger so you can die slowly or heal slowly, no instant heal meat no mo' (Might need validating)
    - Eating animation!
    Combat
    - Sprinting
    - Critical hit enemies!
    - Arrows can be charged for more damage!
    - High ground = more damage (Velocity related)
    - Charging at people then hitting them causes more damage and they get knocked back
    Creative Mode
    - Flying
    - All blocks
    - No health etc.
    Villages
    - Prefab houses
    - free stuff
    - No npcs yet

    Yeah, so many cool new terrain features. The caves, caverns, abandoned mines and valleys look really interesting. Annoyingly that means new maps for 1.8, and jeb just posted we need new ones for 1.9 as well.

    But abandoned mines look AWESUM.

    He literally split up the update because it was so big I can't wait until this update, gonna be huge but I wonder if it will kill the minecraft feel at all.

    Small closed-beta to iron out some bugs because this release is so large. We're getting nightlys after 1.8 I think though.
