It was a joke. it was a stereotype. Please, keep your blood pressure at a reasonable rate.
Also, the term "americanism". Look at george bush!
I'm 100% scottish nothing else. People would assume I'm an aggressive brute (maybe I'm not the best to use in this instance!). Just for being scottish.
I guess for us it shows why we need better social education, something to let our communities and countries excel with the tools and tech we have. I think that's why it's extremely important as a country our 4G spectrum is up asap, our whole country has broadband by at least 2020 like the government intend and to actually get our people to know the amazing tools we have! (I giggled at the last bit, i nearly added amazing tools... in our hands! lmfao).

better?
In Canada and I believe possible other places we do not have 4G. We have 3G. However the phone companies convinced the regulators to change the definition of 4G to include lower speed minimums, and ignore different sorts of technology (thus meaning an older HSPA+ or WCDMA network would qualify as 4G if it reached the "minimum speed requirement" even though LTE is what I'd consider to be actually able to offer 4G service). It was a joke. it was a stereotype. To make a long story short the primary phone carrier in Canada, Bell Mobility announced recently that they're now a 4G network! However none of their infrastructure was upgraded at all and they're still using the same old WCDMA 21mbps capable towers. Nothing new was added and nothing was upgraded. The only thing that changed was a definition of one term.
To make matters even more pathetic Bell advertises their 4G speeds as upto 421mbps. They say in advertisements that 4G speeds allow for connections upto 42mbps however there's two spots in Canada which have such speeds. The speed where I live for each tower is 7mbps, shared amongst everyone on the tower, yet we're told Bell is a 4G network with speeds upto 42mbps when regionally we don't even have 21mbs anywhere in the province or the surrounding areas.
Also, Bell advertises LTE coverage:

Check off the LTE radio. Do you see any LTE coverage? I don't.
I'm not crazy, ask my toaster.
see we're the same.
our law's are pretty much similar, a tad more tight but not far off that issue.
It really annoys me, especially when they're all going slow to buy up and get this auction going.

better?
Canada have it worst for mobile networks, by going off what David has said to me in the past. Then again, from what I've heard the US mobile networks aren't that great either.

they all claim 4G yet none of them operate at actual 4G speed's defined as 4G, just their terming makes it seem so.
Sorry for pulling off topic!
My dad wouldn't have a clue the difference between engine and browser.

Lets compare!
The only thing worth comparing between carriers is data plans and smartphones these days so lets do that.
A Bell Mobility iPhone 4 costs $100 on a 3 year contract and after system access fees and tax comes to $60 a month in which you get:
- 200 minutes
- 500mb data
- unlimited texting
The last time Tom Matt and I compared plans Canada & the USA lost out bigtime because we have 3 year contracts and more expensive data.

iPhone £41 per month, 24 month contract (Handset £free for 16GB) Orange UK [everything everywhere]Lets compare!

Hmm, not sure what to think. My brain says they've probably got better things to care about while at the same time saying they're a bit stupid. At least some people deduced what browsers are and what search engines do. Quite shocked by the younger people who didn't understand what each one does. The Google Chrome question was a bit pointless, they may not have a care in the world for Chrome or different types of browser, so they just use Internet Explorer to browse, and assume Google does the browsing for them![]()

Since the original iPhone came out and since smartphones started dominating the cell phone industry there's been lee-way from our carriers in terms of better plans but nothing like the one you've listed here. Probably within the next ten years or so we'll have something like that!iPhone £41 per month, 24 month contract (Handset £free for 16GB) Orange UK [everything everywhere]

I think most people aren't power users and buy machines for the price point, not necessarily for what it comes with in terms of software, then when they get it aren't overly picky about the software they have on it itself (such as a web browser).
