Default Calculating how much you should eat

    Hey,
I want to start going the gym again to gain muscle + lose fat at the same time, how can i calculate what i eat? Most of my meals will consist of chicken but what other things could i have with my meal that wouldn't be too bad on the new diet?

I can stick to the gym no problem, it's the diet that ***** me over. So i need to concentrate on portion control / Counting calories and fats. What is the easiest way to do it? because lets be honest not all packaged food is entirely clear.

If you want to control your portion size you could buy a smaller plate, that way you won't be able to put too much food on it, unless you cram it on, but then you'd know you were having too much. Also don't eat too quickly, if you take your time you'll know when you're full, and that's not always when you've finished the whole meal.

For things that go with chicken you can have things like rice, pasta, salad, a stir fry or even some fajitas! To count your calories you could keep a food diary for a few weeks and buy your food fresh as much as possible.

    Good luck it!

Myfitnesspal is a brilliant website You can also get an iphone app for it. I would recommend also eating maybe some red meat. You could also if you wanted take protein shakes? you have to be careful of the balance of carbs with protein in the shakes tho. Rice and pasta are good with chicken, tho it sounds like your diet will be very boring. Also remember a balanced diet is always best!

I'm going to be honest with you, dont diet, just eat what you want but smaller the load that your eating. If you wanna get muscle start lifting weights, dont worry about starting on less than others, you can work up to more weight in the following months, also do alot of cardio.

I had a diffrent problem, i was 11 stone before i started going gym, im now 14.3 stone trying to 15. then i can shape, as i been bulking for along time now.
