Default Bit the bullet.. 27" iMac..

So, I've been designing and cutting from my Dell XPS for a while now.. it's having some bad BSOD issues, constantly just shutting off for no reason when I open "Computer" or Documents, or any explorer Window.. blah.

So.. I bit the bullet and bought a 27" iMac..

    Configuration Specs:

    • 3.4GHz Quad-Core Intel Core i7
    • 8GB 1333Mz DDR3 SDRAM - 2 x 4GB
    • 1TB Serial ATA Drive
    • AMD Radeon HD 6970M 2GB GDDR5
    • Magic Mouse + Magic Trackpad
    • Apple Wireless Keyboard
I got an Epson printer with it with AirShare so I can print to it with my iPad and iPhone. I've spent like $5k this year in just Apple products.

It's "Processing" right now, wish it'd ship soon.. I got overnight shipping.. anyways, hope it works good!

Very nice! My dad got one almost exactly the same spec a few months ago and the 27" screen is freakin' beautiful.... although he did stick Windows 7 on it within the first week he had it

I've played with the TrackPad though and, to me, it seems pretty pointless.

Yeah I figured so, but for $69 I thought what the heck.

I'm going to throw a copy of Parallels on there and then a copy of this So many perks when you're a mentor to the Air Force Cyber Patriots.

Similar in specs to my 27" iMac. They're lovely machines, I have Lion and Windows 7 running at same time with Vmware - the screen is pure heaven

Let us know if the trackpad is of any use to you, I am curious to see if anyone with a trackpad as well as the Magic Mouse thinks having both is worth while.

All that for a Windows computer? It sounds to me like your dad wasted his money

Exact same ram configuration and speed, and mines a quad core i5 in lieu of a i7.

How smoothly does it run? I estimate running Photoshop and Illustrator at the same time, handle it?

iMacs are brilliant if you want a powerful all-in-one daily use machine, as I say, the screen is absolutely gorgeous.
