Similar build to mine, except I went for the SSD and maxed the RAM after I bought it.

Runs like a beast! Wouldn't want anything else

Altogether including tax and overnight shipping it was like $2,725.27, but I also got an Epson AirPrint printer with it for $99.00 (that's in the price too).

For me to buy that build in the UK it would be about $3500 in our currency. And that is why I will only buy an iMac in the US haha

Haha dang! Anyone who's bought a BTO computer from Apple, how long does it usually take to go from "Processing" to "Preparing For Shipment"?

My dad's iMac took about a week to arrive I think. Apple's shipping estimates were a week late.

It says "Ships in 1-3 Business Days" and I got overnight shipping, so who knows.

Apple stuff nearly always ships early, their delivery dates are usually worst case scenario.

My mate just got a Macbook Air and it was 1 - 3 days for him, he got it the day after he ordered it

My MacBook Pro which was BTO was processing for about a day or two, then shipped on the third day

That tends to be the case when it's not BTO, but when it is they tend to be rather on the money.

I would love to stick a SSD in mine, but the thought of dissecting it quite frankly horrifies me.
I'm not crazy, ask my toaster.

Both my iMac and previous Macbook Pro were BTO and I received both around 4 days early.

The general consensus when it comes to Apple is that they lower your expectations with the delivery dates, maybe you chaps have got unlucky :p

I cant blame you :p I paid a stupid price to have mine included, but I wouldn't want to add one myself if I was in that position.
