    Default Ban times?

    o/

    Anyway, I was wondering what you lot think of the whole 'ban page + times' system? I don't mean "AMG, 1 MONTH BAN IS TOO LONG FOR A BAD LINK BAN" - Because 1) it isn't. and 2) I'm talking about the EST/GMT/AEST timezone issue.

    Ex. I was banned the other day (for ... reasons) at about 15:00 GMT. The ban time said, you will be unbanned at 10:00am same day = GMT + 00:00. I don't think I can actually travel back in time? :S

    Also, some of my friends were confused a while ago about the date - because the DAYs of the ban/unban weren't after the number 12 - e.g. the 11th of September (11/9/2011) - Oh oops, I picked a random date and it's actually 9/11 in the US ;S

    Anyway, because there's no message reminding them that foreign dates are in different orders (UK = D/M/Y, US = M/D/Y) they thought they were banned for 2 months or something. The exact date wasn't 11th september - I can't remember specifically, but they did get confused and thought they were banned for 2 months. When they were only banned for 4 hrs.

    I've been banned a few times on the merge (innocent me) hotel and it's genuinely a pain - I know that sexual bans are 4 hrs, but I can't figure out other bans - because racism is now a 1 month ban (my friend got banned for it yesterday) whereas it used to be 12 hrs.

    SO CONFUSING, I wish they'd just put times for all countries on the ban page!

    But yeah, what'd you think?

    I HATE IT. this as well as forum time stamp being in est
    I have broguht it up on uservoice and in soapbox. People shouldn't have to google when they are unbanned. This is an international hotel and they should cover for every timezone. Kitano said there was nothing they could do though.

    Argh I hate it. They should allow you to find out ban times for wherever you are. It's so stupid. I no longer bother checking my ban length or reason as I just think it's a load of ****.

    Use your common sense. If you are in the UK swap the dates and plus 5 hours lol. It would be nice to have all dates on the page but for the time being it's not hard to work out.

    That was an example it's hard to figure out when you've been unbanned, because it goes like this;

    "I get banned at 15:00 GMT today"
    'The ban page says - YOU HAVE BEEN BANNED! Your ban will expire on 11/30/11 at 11:00 EST time'

    How are you meant to know when 11:00 is in EST. It's much easier with a long list than having to either google it, or go to your laptop clock and look for EST.

    Well, that's fine because you probably know there's a 5 hr time difference - in my 2nd example (better one), it doesn't actually say what time you got banned, so a new user is going to be like "whut, when's that, I'm australian". Or w.e
