Making a username required entry would still allow abuse though

someone could easily make a list of usernames and post them all

people can use fake usernames to attempt to get them in trouble (i.e. I could post one with your name swearing, being racist etc)

It would have to be a form on vb that automatically sends your username with the form

but I agree with others it's not really needed.

To those saying people could enter fake usernames and things, all it'd have to be is a page on the forum with links to go to different applications, and you have to be logged in on the forum to fill it out. I had that back when I had a forum, and if it's just like that where you choose that they must be registered, then I don't see the problem. I think it does make it easier having the question written out there and ensuring that each question is answered. It would also make it easier to read the applications.

Having said that, I don't think the current system of PMing a particular user has any major problems anyway. This could be a nice update, but not something which is completely nessecary in my opinion.

    Not online very often

Back to the idea and not it's implementation it isn't an effective method of screening applicants.

It would be the same as a multiple choice test, it doesn't gauge an applicants way of thinking or intelligence just how well they can answer questions. This could mean that even the noobiest of noobs could make it through the the trial phase essentially lengthening the whole process due to badly selected trialists.

Even if it were open ended questions it wouldn't be any different to the PM as each application would still need to be read and analysed.

I think way he wanted it would be text box's more than click this checkbox if you want this answer, etc.

But I still agree that theres no real need for it, and as several managers have said its not an issue, and it's not as if theres hundreds of applications

Maybe 20-30 at most these days.
