WHats the point in reputation now

Hi,

Well recently i've noticed a bit of a decrease in people using reputation up untill Christmas when its used constantly. I've noticed all this year no matter what the comment says for a negative rep it seems to be removed, I mean i've -repped Josh! about 2-3 times and every time its been removed even though i've left a good comment on why im negative repping him?
It sort of defeats the object nowdays...

I too feel I've made similar -reps, being entirely valid and then also removed. Defeats the point.

I'd like to see a free-for-all in terms of reputation - that means you can ask for rep and rep anybody for any reason.

I think a change needs making, but probably not one which allows the top ten reputations on the forum to +rep each other for no reason.

I found staff were removing valid rep so I just assumed it was corruption, is it happening for ordinary members now?

I've had plenty of legit +reps this year so ur posts must just be rubbish

Dunno about the -reps thing. I remember when oli was fm it was pretty bad also cos he used to go through his own rep like every week and remove any -reps people gave him because he was an abusing little shhhhhhhhhhhhhhhakes ma maracas

I agree that -reps get removed far too easily. I admit even, that once or twice i got -reps removed that i know very well shouldn't have been removed.

i've had plenty of +rep on posts all year round so yr posts must not be up there ross also i've never see the object of people getting -rep removed, get over it. think people shouldn't be allowed to remove it unless it's outrightedly abusive.
