What are you scared of?

Heights and cicadas. Cicada shells I'm fine with, it's the live ones I get so creeped out from ;P

I'm scared of people and what they're capable of. I guess I'm afraid of being hurt the most, and afraid that I won't be able to cope with that. I am honestly surprised more people don't mention human beings in topics like these. They can bring you the most pleasure, yet also the most unbearable pain. There's a good excerpt from Murakami's novel South of the Border, West of the Sun that emphasizes this.

"She wasn't the only one who got hurt. I hurt myself deeply, though at the time I had no idea how deeply. I should have learned many things from that experience, but when I look back on it, all I gained was one single, undeniable fact. That ultimately I am a person who can do evil. I never consciously tried to hurt anyone, yet good intentions notwithstanding, when necessity demanded, I could become completely self-centered, even cruel. I was the kind of person who could, using some plausible excuse, inflict on a person I cared for a wound that would never heal."

Other than that, I guess I'm afraid of losing those close to me, and also of spiders and months, giant bugs and the like. I also have a phobia of ringing people on the phone.

Spider is my biggest phobia. I use to be okay with them but then something changed and now I'm terrified of them.

I used to do, well I didn't think it was a phobia at the time but I grew out of it so luckily no phobias.

Spiders and wasps, and I don't know if you class this as a phobia, but I absolutely hate planes.
