The only decent thing about icecast is the ability to switch from autodj to a live stream instantly. Is habboxlive going to have an autodj once the new site opens? management have always went against autodj, what has changed? It's one of those updates that will either kill or succeed

2) Giving 40+ staff the power to post an image on the Habbox Frontpage? Especially with the turnover in HxL, that seems unwise to me.

Just because we are switching to IceCast doesn't automatically mean we are doing AutoDJ - That is just one of the key features of IceCast and does a better job at it than shoutcast does.

But I'm pretty sure we can easily discuss to put autodj into effect or not.

Which is true but you guys are delusional if you think adding an auto dj won't reduce activity The only alternative would be to only allow presenters to put the auto dj on at certain times but that'd be too hard to monitor and would still lead to people going inactive.

The auto dj has never been installed for obvious reasons I don't see why habbox would install something after half a decade of management arguing its flaws.

I think with News it's more easy to moderate as we can unpublish news immediately etc.

Also I like the AutoDJ and I don't think djs will become lazy as such, they are required to talk yeah? I'm sure some listeners could inform Logan/Matt/Grig whoever if they're just not doing their work.

I believe most of the djs would do their minimum requirements but won't put much as much effort into the radio as they have done in the past.

Not having an auto dj separates the dedicated djs from the regular. You won't have people spamming msn with 'CAN ANYONE DJ AT 10' and eventually that'll just lead to djs questioning why they're spamming msn and not sticking the auto dj on. Habboxlive have enough djs to cover the timetable and if the numbers aren't adding up perhaps management need to take a long look at who's not pulling their weight and if needs be, up the minimum requirments.

There's not too much harm trialling it for a week or two and keeping an eye on it. If DJ slot booking slips again then scrap it.
