Didn't he kill close to 100 people? This is not justice.
should be locked up until the day he dies to be honest..
It's the Norwegian law. It's a weird case, if he was tried for being mentally insane, he would probably never see daylight again. However, if he was tried as being mentally sound then 21 years is the maximum sentence.
I think it's because of the likelihood of this ever happening in the first place - and happening again. Before this, Norway was one of the most peaceful countries on Earth, very rarely was the maximum sentence ever used.
I think this case shows that Norway has to do something rather quickly. 21 years for the murder of around 100 people doesn't seem to add up really.
There isn't really a debate here I'm afraid, it's fairly obvious the answer to the question is 'no' and anyone who thinks otherwise is a Nazi and a homophobic.

21 years? That's a joke. There needs to be a death penalty for something like this.
It's interesting to see 67% of people in that poll agree that it is justice.
I don't know what the Norwegian prison service is like. 21 years could be unbelievably painful if the conditions are awful. Plus when he leaves prison he will probably be hidden away in a house somewhere never really getting any sort of freedom, for fear of his life. That said, would he be safe around others if he was freed? Killing that many people and the way he shows no remorse makes it seem like he is a danger to society, and could go on to kill after his sentence is up.
