I got a reward (touch) the second I walked in. I'm not sure what block you are talking about though.

I see now: the cube has been hidden behind the wall (look at me levitating on it). I guess it has been put there to programme an action? I haven't received anything when standing on it.

I recon it was a staff that moved it to add the pixel stuff then moved back into hiding when they finished
