There are no words to describe how tempted I am to buy one, but I have absolutely no reason to buy one

When I saw the Nexus 7 and the price point I immediately was suspicious that they were selling that guy at a net loss / not to make a profit. Sure enough that is what they're doing. Whether that's to prepare for the market share they'll lose from Surface, to cut into Apple share or both I don't know. Either way what I know is that I bet Microsoft wont sell the Surface to make a profit either, but instead will want to gain market share fast by selling cheap, too. So not only will Android v. Windows. v iOS competition be beneficial for forcing the big three to improve software, but hopefully it's going to mean we're going to see a slew of cheaper tablets, maybe even a cheaper iPad.

There seem to be a few rumours going around of a smaller iPad in the $199-299 range (only quickly glanced at the title, but it was quite low). Quite a few Apple rumours seem to point toward smaller iPads, or larger iPhones.

Very interesting. These three companies are making the industry very nice for us consumers
