If anything, they're a prime example of an organised chaos - they try to be professional but muck up in the details and execution.

Runescape even had a global filter. If Habbo can convert it into a whitelist filter, so all languages are involved, then all hotels can be multi-lingual without discriminating against 'foreign' users. Either that, or not have a whitelist filter and stop being so damn lazy and have moderators and a system in place to pick up on irregular and dodgy conversations, like they should be doing on a sensitive site like Habbo :/
I was just going to mention Runescape and Habbo can really learn from it. Playing both games for many years I really get the feeling that the staff at Jagex really do care and listen to the communities opinions.. I have no idea if that has anything to do with it being an English company or simply possessing better, more capable staff..

Sulake doesn't seem bothered about anything other than profit, as long as they're selling furniture they don't care. I know this is the main focus of every business but they need to keep their fan base happy to maintain/increase on their current profit.. The community usually know a lot more about the game than the staff, as their experience of being on the game will far surpass many staff working for the company.. so they should really pay a lot more attention to what we want and not just what they want to hear

Jagex used to care about their community, however they do not give a monkeys any longer about community, so much so that the High level forums on runescape is just full of maxed players slating the Jagex team, and rightly so.

The filter however works to an extent of filtering words, but it doesnt stop autotypers or gold farming sites, so it's still a pile of ****.

In summary, not much to learn from Jagex.

To be honest Habbo might as well close. The mute has caused so much **** that the .com hotel peaks at barely 2.5k which is gob smacking considering it's the main hotel for 5 countries, one of them being the US - one of the most populated globally.

    It's just a shambles.

The runescape comment is interesting. All Sulake need to do is be able to identify a user who uses specific words immediately, then monitor their conversations to see where it's going. Job done.

Well it will peak low right now; we're still silent after three weeks. I'm confident that the visitor count will steadily increase once the mute has ended, but don't expect too much all at once. I daresay it will take some people at least a few days to even realise the hotel has been unmuted before they start logging on again. I'm pretty sure though that after a few weeks the numbers will be back up close to where they used to be.

the things people are asking to be brought back are the very things nearly everyone on this forum was pleased to see go a few years back - make up your mind. paul isnt perfect, but he communicates much more than anybody else used to @Red

I think the problem with some of it is nostalgia. People don't remember the problems caused by the Hobba system, they just want to be one. They don't remember the bad aspects of some of these features; there's a good reason most of them were removed. I can understand bringing back things like the in site news however.

Well I never wanted hobbas/xs returning and theres a good few members on here who are equally against a similar programme being introduced. There is always divided opinions on them though. Pretty sure not many would argue against the return of trained, local moderators or competitions and articles?!? The homepage is an absolute state currently with a lot of good features removed and a twitter feed shoved on. He communicates yea but on twitter, where he gets opinions from a small minority. Communication should be down through habbo. He blocks anyone he doesn't like and doesn't take any criticism. Plus, it annoyed me how he tripped on about habbo cms, when he should have been sorting out the appalling moderation/customer support.

You're right about the site. They shouldn't be encouraging users onto Twitter; in my opinion it only encourages the type of 'culture' they are trying to change. Sites like Neopets (probably not the best example now they user FB, but they still insist users are old enough to use the service and FB is intended at a target audience of over 13s) work so well because they completely cut out links to any other sites. They actively punish users who try to take topics elsewhere; this is what Sulake need to exercise within Habbo.

I wasn't on Habbo during the Hobba rein and I was too young to really remember the X's, I just thought they were gods an wanted to be one, so from a personal point I'd like to see similar return. However, a social media site/game more or less ran by its members isn't good. But tbh, it's a game and people shouldn't be stupid enough to go on cam and exchange details with faceless randomers.
