he giveaways I (and @Ms.Aquamarine; - thanks for your help bbe) hosted were out of generosity, not to gain votes. The users didn't have to vote and the only people that did say they were voting commented on how well-designed the room was. I enjoyed hosting the giveaway and tried to make it as fun as possible. Quite a few stayed afterwards to enjoy the room. Hosting an event in a room to get it full so the boost rooms are not the only full 'jungle' rooms is not paying for votes, it's just common sense.

You may find that badgering your friends individually to come and vote (on their clones, too) is a good tactic, but I find that having a full room helps gather interest. When a room has two or three people in it all day and the rating doesn't budge but it still wins then it's quite obvious - in my opinion, anyway - that that person is cheating somehow if they win.
