I was desperate for money so applied to McDonalds, who told me I had too many qualifications to be suited to their store. (yeah too clever to work in mcdonalds -.-). It's just a job at the end of the day really!!

Haha, oh my. I've heard stuff like that before but never believed it genuinely happened.

    i would be embarrassed
I'm at a point in my life where I don't care if you like me or you don't. If you like me, cool. If you don't, meh.

One of my friends worked in McDonalds in another town. Nobody knew until I came across her one day. She pleaded me not to tell anyone from school but eventually they found out and they made fun of her? I didn't really understand why it was so embarrassing or why she was made fun of. Especially because those making fun of her were ALL unemployed so I thought it was quite immature. Obviously this isn't your dream job, it's just something to keep the money coming in which is a lot more than what some people have so don't worry about what anyone else thinks. At the end you'll have more money and experience than them, not to mention a good reference.

    Good luck x

Wow I'm quite shocked at the responses here. Some people come across as ignorant and quite frankly a jobs a job and McDonald's isn't the worst job you can have. It's great for a student anyway, working hours around your college/uni days is what I've been doing for the past 15 months. During this summer I'm working full time to keep me busy. Am I embarrassed? No. I actually like working at McDonalds which is why I'm going to continue doing so during half terms (working around my other job which will be solely working term time).

Hey I actually LOVE working at Primark, we get some of the most brilliant clientèle... Today I didn't know where this bra went. It looked a bit grubby... I looked at the tag and realised it had been swapped. HOW VILE. But no only thing good about working at Mcdonalds is you get **** loads of hours!

In all honestly I would never work in any fast food restaurant. Work in a bar/ club though and that's fun apart from the fact that tons of friends go.

I'd have a laugh if I knew someone I knew was working there but not mean anything from it.. good on them getting a job at the end of the day.
