Three of the seen police were wearing riot-gear and had shields. Police are still at the scene, which has now been blocked off.

Depends on the dog, the riot shields are seen as a standard form of kit in some areas to deal with a dog, and larger dogs will need more than one officer with the right equipment. Not entirely sure what the fire services were called out for though :/ Moral support?
