All of my mates that have jobs are all working at Maccas. It's never appealed to me, ever! Last year i did think of getting a job but i would never work in a fast food place and therefore was happy to wait. It just doesnt suit me. Luckily i got into working in a newsagents with family members and selling lotto x]

Anyways it's hard to get a job at McDonalds sooooo... The amount of times I've applied and have been rejected it's not even like I don't have the experience.

I started to work at McDonald's when I was in 11th grade because I wanted a job. Mind you, I'm a vegetarian, so imagine how awkward it was for me. In all honesty, I enjoyed it. I worked there for two years, til I moved. I loved my co-workers and I was one of the store's best workers, they even had me running the store often heh. But it is really stressful. Well, at least for my store, since we were the busiest/most successful in the Denver Metro Area. Constantly busy, very stressful. So yeahhhh.

As with any job, it's only embarassing if you make it embarassing. You could tell your friends you've got the job. McDonalds is a good employer, the reputation they have doesn't really make any sense. As long as you act like a person you should be fine, rather than a drone. Chat to them like you would normally if they do walk in, while keeping in mind you need to represent the company.

A job is a job. With the state of the economy at the moment I would be happy to work in McDonalds!

No. I actually like working at McDonalds which is why I'm going to continue doing so during half terms (working around my other job which will be solely working term time).
Indeed, it's funny how there is a social stigma associated with McDonalds when it is actually a really good idea and quite reasonable really. A job is a job, and money is money. Surely the unemployed jokers should be mocked for being lazy and not making money? I've heard quite a few people really enjoy it (like you). It's only really a problem if you feed into the embarassment which shouldn't exist in the first place :/

a few people that i used to hang around with work / have worked in mcdonalds.
one of them is now a manager (she's 17)
another got fired cos she had a 'breakdown' (she was known for attention seeking anyway) and kept walking out
another left after a week 'cos it was 'too hard'
and then another works weekends and 2 more just work whenever.

i personally wouldn't work there, like it's good hours but the moneys not great and i couldnt stand the length of the hours!
the only thing stronger than fear is hope
