It's kinda pointless writing pronunciations in that fashion since if people pronounce book wrong they probably pronounce buck wrong too due to differences in inflection and all that other stuff that determines how one speaks. I know for a fact that a lot of northerners would say luck as "lock" but still think they're saying luck, for example

Like the second one but the c is more of a prolonged u for me. I'd say buck like "buh-ck" but book like "buuk" or "burk" LOL.
