    Default -rep question

    editing:

I was just wondering if: When a member -reps someone and then staff remove the -rep because the user gave it for no reason, is it against the rules to give -rep for not sticking to the forum rules, or would that also be against the forum rules.

I don't bother about rep, it's just when I have a question in my head, I have to get it answered or it really annoys me. thanks

Only within valid reason as if not it would just be classed as revenge as Chris said .

It wouldn't be revenge as such, idk lol I mean... if someone gives you -rep and the forum manager or whoever removes it because they gave you it for no reason, they should get -rep instead if you get me. I was just wondering if that would be classed as pointless revenge by doing so.

p.s im not wanting to -rep any1, just came to my mind there lol

OH I get you now, I think it would be classed as revenge due to only giving it because they gave it first if you get me? .

yeah kinda. In my opinion they should put in a system where if you give -rep for no reason, you get like 10 -rep and a caution. Then again, people don't really take rep seriously I think, just wondered and it came to my mind lol

Isn't that just contributing to a vicious circle of -rep warfare? Sounds pointless.

I disagree, it still counts as revenge rep. Besides, if someone is pestering management constantly crying that they got -rep'd the chances are even if it's valid it may still be removed as it's just wasting managements time arguing with the person in question, it'll also just lead to futher arguments.

I don't think that would be fair really, if someone -repped you and they had a rep power of 6, say, then you would be -repped 3 points. That doesn't equal the 10 or a caution that you suggest (I know this could be flexible) but a caution would be cautioned member wouldn't it? I know people get warned when they continue to do it.

lmao, anyway I was just wondering after the rep rules got updated. I don't really care about my rep, just a random thing that came to my head, and when I have a question it annoys me if it doesn't get answered . thx for the answer
