Mine didn't really hurt at all. Only when they were tightened and it was just an achy feeling like when you push on your teeth. And I get the same feeling when my retainers are tightened but it's really only for a day. My mum bought all this custard and jelly stuff to eat for the day I got them but I just stuck to solid foods coz it didn't hurt.

Although come to think of it, I got my bottom teeth done first then my top teeth done like a month later or something. It might have been more painful if I had had both put on at the same time.

Oh yeah and one time the wire at the end was rubbing on the side of my mouth and that hurt, but it's alright if you put the wax stuff on. If it's super painful go back to your orthodontist, but mine only started to rub about a week away from my appointment so I just left it.

my experience with braces has been so bad oh god..they hurt/ache/w.e for like the first week and it was so bad for me that the pain, starting from my jaw reached my head and in the end my whole face would hurt. attending school with that was really hard for me, and even chewing soft stuff was hard for the first2-3 days after tightening. it was impossible for me to shut my mouth so i had to sleep with my mouth open for a whole week
    anyway

It hurts for abit when you get them on for about a weekish it does hurt but after that its fine, then when you get it tightened it hurts for a bit but after a couple of months of it you get used to it, trust me I had mine in for about 6/7 years... **** my life. I've had **** loads done to my teeth its surprising that I actually have any teeth left.
