Yeah the doctor on Supersize vs. Superskinny always says that he encourages weight loss but you need to make sure you're being regularly monitored by your GP if you're planning to lose a lot of weight.
Its based on a healthy lifestyle, i get all the vitamins i need and more, i am more healthy than i have ever been in my life and i still have treats. I lost on average 2-3lbs per week and it has not done me any harm whatsoever!

I'm sorry I'm slightly confused by your last sentence as earlier you said:
Excuse me if I am being fabulously stupid or have missed something somewhereI lost 11.5lbs in my first week at Slimming World and then only 4lbs in the 2nd week I then went on to lose 8lbs in the third week.![]()
I've been doing it for 9 months right, in the past sort of 4 months i have been getting 2-3lb losses consistently bar things like christmas and birthdays where i lost like a lb in the first 5 months it was anything from 2lbs-8lbs it varied dependant on how good i was and the amount of exercise i did.

Generally speaking, the bigger you are the easier it is to lose weight. So somebody who has an extremely poor diet, doesn't exercise and is quite overweight will lose weight a lot quicker when they start to diet, exercise etc. The first week people diet they tend to lose quite a lot of weight as most of it is 'water weight'. As those people i previously mentioned get slimmer and closer towards their target weight, the amount of weight they lose per week will drop significantly.

All suggestions are pretty good. Do exercise regularly and try some strolling or other HIIT every 1-2 weeks. If your now consuming grain, veggie oil, glucose and unhealthy meals cut those out.
When somebody who is ready to lose weight goes through a lifestyle change (i.e. diet and training,) their metabolism basically goes into shock. You see a tremendous amount of weight loss in the first 2-3 weeks, then you start to level out. Same thing for a beginner weight lifter. They will see gains in the first few months that would take experienced lifters much much longer to gain the same amount of weight. Once your body gets used to the changes, it will balance itself out. Roughly 2 lbs. a week is recommended. More than that isn't necessarily "unhealthy" however, that's about the rate that fat burns. If you are running an even lower calorie deficit, you are probably losing the lean mass that you have put on through your training.
People can't have their head wrapped around a number on the scale. You should only use the scale to make sure that you are continually making changes. Remember that muscle weighs more than fat, so your weight loss will slow down. Also, avoid doing nothing but cardiovascular activities, as you will lose fat but you won't have any noticeable muscle underneath and you will look "skinny-fat". You should always be doing resistance training as well as cardiovascular training to see the dramatic changes that you want to see. Even if you only want to lose 10 lbs.
I agree, the physiological changes of weight loss should harbour more value than a mere number on the scale. The physical changes you can see, how you feel mentally, and basically a overhaul of a lifestyle change. Its all about what you eat, how you burn calories, and the wellness that you can commit to.
Eating foods with adequate vitamin and minerals, getting a supplement to give if your not getting enough of it. Exercise 3-4 times a week. Even if you dont like working out, Get in 3- 10 minute intervals throughout the day. Better than nothing right?
Basically, balancing out everything and rid yourself of stress. Not taking the easy way out by magic quick fix pills that will harm you in the long run.
Sure it will be hard but something becomes a habit after 2-3 weeks they say. So make it happen.
Err....hai.
