I agree with Jen, it's bordering on harassment really. If he doesn't want to prove himself he really doesn't have to. If he faked I'm sure there was a reasonable explanation, it's not like he was planning on meeting any of you irl so it wouldn't really make the slightest bit of difference.

anyway, people seem to be playing doctor here and assume that he's faking pics for self esteem issues, whatever reason it is it doesn't really matter, because if someone were to fake pictures that's not an okay thing to do, it's the principle of it that actually matters. you can't do things like that without facing repercussions, if a person is old enough to use a forum they should be old enough to handle people questioning a false identity, JUST as much as if someone were to allow their personal information to be seen by the public, they should be aware of what they're doing and who exactly can see/use this information. there's a reason my facebook is on private. unfortunately this is what we're dealing with these days, a disgusting invasion of privacy. saying that, NOBODY IS TO BLAME BUT YOURSELF AND YOUR RIDICULOUS CHOICE OF A PRIVACY SETTING ON YOUR PERSONAL INFORMATION.

I find it bizarre the lengths that people have gone to to collect evidence for what is a rather pathetic misdemeanour regardless of whether the information is out there for people to see publically or not over what is a Habbo fansite that we are all going to leave behind one day, sadly some of us a lot later than is socially acceptable

that the photo an individual is using is not actually them? it's a fake identity, if you wanted to protect your privacy would it not be better to just not post a picture at all? like you, as far as i'm aware everybody respects your decision of not posting a photo and nobody goes snooping to find one. it's the whole 'treat people with the respect they deserve' kind of thing. also, who are YOU to say what is or what isn't socially acceptable, especially in regards to age and the forum. this is a community where people have made decent friendships, and have met people in real life (you included). it being a habbo based forum has nothing to do with it, so why bring it up?

This isn't really about protection of privacy, it's about why it needs to be private in the first place when the issue is minor and easy to just wave away and move on. Online, it doesn't really matter if the person said they're 18 when they're really 15 (dogboy123 - numbers made up, I can't really remember), good looking instead of ugly because the individual online is the personality they portray. As far as I know, Lee has not suddenly had a personality transplant after being caught out so online, nothing really changes. I brought up the Habbo forum because it highlights how sad ferreting through people's facebook and tumblrs and god knows what else really is but you're right, it's not relevant because it's pretty sad anywhere tbh.

I remember a local forum I used where these people were convinced that some posters were councillors posing as locals and would go to extreme lengths similar to what has happened here to expose said people with some innocent people caught in the crossfire.

Posting fake information about yourself (mainly photos) is never a good thing and will always be an issue when you are using the internet. Let's be honest about this: Faking or telling lies is stupid and you will often get caught out as people leaves tracks around on the websites they use. Really people shouldn't bother posting photos altogether if they don't wish to show their real self.

it's about personality yes, which is why everyone is/would treat him the same if it were true and he admitted it? regardless i'm still gonna speak to him, but a tendency to lie is obviously going to come under PERSONALITY. which you believe is what really matters online (not disagreeing, it does but i don't understand why you're using this point as im sure everyone will treat him the exact same).
as far as i'm aware yet again, is that people just looked at the facebook linked to his email, that's all i saw. you can hardly call it extensive when it's linked to information he has provided
