I said nothing about profession where did that come from :S

It's to be expected on a teenage internet forum, I'm afraid.
Their opinions may be disgraceful to you, but it's not going to change themAs said above, their opinions are disgraceful. I also do not like people who try to justify those who are being a **** with the phrase "It's just my opinion."
(*I'm not saying you're doing that, just stating that's similar to what happened before and will probably happen in this thread furthermore.)![]()

LOL ikr Stephen and I find it so funny how we all vote for MIND and depression for our habbox charity then act like this? and speaking of mind, here's a great article
http://www.mind.org.uk/mental_health...ding_self-harm
think these parts are important :it's not just teenage girls or whatever stereotype you may ave it's men women children professional etc and most all humans with a life and feelings..It's worth remembering that most people behave self-destructively at times, even if they don't realise it. Perfectly ordinary behaviour, such as smoking, eating and drinking too much, or working long hours, day after day, can all be helping people to numb or distract themselves and avoid being alone with their thoughts and feelings.
Men
If men conform to the macho stereotype that expressing emotion is a weakness, it can leave them unable to fully experience their feelings, and detached from that side of themselves. They may have less difficulty showing anger than women, but if they are in prison, where pent-up feelings can't be released, men are more likely to turn to self-harm, especially if they have been abused.
The trigger could be a reminder of the past (such as an anniversary) which sets off a hidden memory, or something unexpected could happen to cause a shake-up. But sometimes, ordinary life is just so difficult that self-harm is the only way to cope with it.
If experiences were so painful they forced you to deal with your emotions by hurting yourself, you may now seriously doubt whether you can deal with them in any other way.
ardemax aim of self harm awareness day is to make people with such opinions aware of their misconceptions and ignorance, i have changed a few people's minds before, think people have to actually be in communication with a person or see a situation with their own eyes before they can truly understand it. ive changed my mind on people and situations before so it's completely possible..

Weirdos.
i'm kinda shocked with some of the replies in the thread. it's all well and good having an opinion on something like self harm, but if your opinion is gonna cause a little hurt to those that do self harm (for the likes of calling them idiots, when you know damn well that people on this forum have self harmed) then it was just unnecessary. i mean, you could have still given your opinion and just worded it a little differently without causing confrontation, yet some of you continued to repeat opinions that were obviously not looked lightly upon on this thread which i don't quite get.
mhmm, don't really wanna add much more to my post in regards to my experiences and i'm not exactly sure what i would put but i do think people on this forum should just be a little more considerate with what they're posting, especially on topics like this.
Just because an opinion is unpopular it doesn't make it any less valid.
i know, but you should just take into consideration a few things about self harm before calling those who do it weirdos, losers, etc. no wonder people haven't been happy with some of the opinions in here because they could have been said in a nicer way or not said at all, to avoid hurting others. idgi
