I've actually never seen or read LOTR (have researched it mind you and seen the Hobbit) but have with Harry Potter, but I admire them both for lots of reasons, so I can't vote between them!!

I would choose Harry Potter because it is really fun watching those wizard kids and grew up fighting evil. I haven't seen Lord of the Rings yet so I will choose Harry Potter or in a funny way Hairy Potter.

I haven't seen or read lotr although I intend to see the films..eventually. Its has to be Harry Potter.

I think they're both great but Harry Potter is by far the best for me because of the variety of things that happen. I generally think magic is amazing because the possibilities are endless. Also the story is better with HP.
