    I did hairdressing at college and have my full NVQ so I think I am qualified to tell you, do not dye it blonde, you would need a load of bleach to get through the red to make the blonde not turn out brassy or orange/yellow, putting a brown over it is the best idea, preferably go for a 'cool' shade rather than a 'warm' shade to prevent it turning out too red, unless that's what you want
    Do not even attempt blonde at this time
    Brown is the safest option, make sure it is a darker shade than your red and its very unlikely that anything can go wrong. Also, nope you do not need to go to a professional.

    Dye over it in red. You could slap a blonde dye on it, but it will most probably go ginger. Putting a dark dye on it will keep the reamining red there still.
