Macklemore - The Heist

What does everyone think of the album? I'd only heard Thrift Shop and assumed it'd be one of those artists who has like one hit and a bad album but the album is actually really good imo.

I love most of his tracks. Thrift Shop was good, but it gets annoying after a while, lol.

Same Love has a powerful message, Gold is pretty catchy, Jimmy lovine was pretty cool, and Cowboy Boots was also super catchy.

I also appreciate the fact that he doesn't write about stuff that most rappers do (money, drugs, women, etc).

I'll give the album a 8/10 total. He has too many featured people on his tracks, so it isn't as original as it could be.

There are some good songs and some not so. Obviously the two most known on the album for me are 'Cant hold us' and 'Thrift Shop' which are both pretty decent songs. I agree with @brackson; about with the featured people, although I think that makes most of his songs better tbh. And most of his songs are fairly catchy tbh, I thought he'd be one of those people who'd create one song that goes crazef and disappear completely right after.

I love The Heist. Been listening to some of the songs on it for ages (quite a lot of the less well known ones too)

I haven't really listened to the album and I didn't really like thrift shop when I first heard it tbh but I absolutely love can't hold us.
