People troll because it makes them feel better about themselves and in their mind they feel like they can overpower you - and power feels nice.

People troll because their lives lack any real substance, and they are probably bullied in real life - but trolling makes them feel powerful, rather than weak.

I agree with what everyone else says. Most trolls have no lives. Even if they have 'friends', they almost always turn out to be other people that they met on the internet who also have no lives outside of the virtual world. They find it fun to hold power, make reactions, draw in a big crowd, persistently claim to be bigger/better than they actually are and so on.

The other type of troll are those that simply do not care about whatever the topic is (for instance, playing Habbo), and are only logged in for an unknown circumstance (such as a real-life friend asking them to sign in), and have no care in the world what they do/the consequence (such as getting banned) because they don't really want to be involved in the topic in the first place. This is the type of troll that simply finds it amusing to work other people up in a topic (or game like Habbo) that seems completely arbitrary and worthless to the troll.

When you're in HxHD barely a day goes by when someone doesn't try to troll you

It's best if your answer is just sarcastic back and you joke along with them. A negative reaction from you is exactly what they want.

If you're nice to them they always feel bad lol. One member on here is a terrible troll though, I always manage to have something to say back and she ends up kicking and banning me from her room or moving away and muting me... and she's the troll! -_-

attention seeking mostly, imo and in my experience.

even if it's out of nothing, like accusing someone of trading when they didn't, they're still seen as a 'victim' and people would give attention and even sympathy. if it's annoying posting of threads etc it's negative attention - people moaning or complaining about the individual but it's still attention...

Once I was playing a FF for a Gold Coin and I accused another player (who was the best player in the game) of trading me and they got kicked. I won.
