the fact that they even thought of releasing the console with these stupid drm features is enough to turn me away 100% even if they listen to complaints

it's not like they wont try and do something like that again right

Can anyone try and explain to me why all this trust from Microsoft has just vanished? And everyone seems fully trusting of Sony?

I don't know why they would fully trust Sony considering the security breach they had.

Microsoft is part of Prism. Sony isn't.

and the security breach didn't effect me. I did get 5 free games.

My first response to the whole Prism thing, is that we're not American... So why does that matter? Surely that means that didn't affect us? The PlayStation network leak did affect Britons...

I honestly think people are being douchey towards Microsoft just for the sake of it

(And surely Microsoft are part of Prism because they are an American company, and Sony isn't? So basically, we just don't trust Americans any more?)

And Sony owns the patent to completely block Used games. WHAT IS YOUR POINT?

    Also

We lost ability to play games disc free, ability to take our entire games library anywhere, ability to share entire library with up to 9 other friends and there may be more. JUST BECAUSE PEOPLE CAN'T UNDERSTAND/ :@ I GIVE IN

"Under the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act 2000, if a UK intelligence agency wants to access content it must apply to the relevant Secretary of State for authorization.
If it only wants the Meta data - e.g. who emailed who - senior management can authorise this but it must be quickly reviewed by a retired High Court judge.

Where the PRISM story impacts on the UK is that the law appears unclear whether it would be legal for the UK to ask for or receive information from PRISM without going through the same legal procedures.

We have Mr Snowden to thank for highlighting that potential loophole which in turn forced the UK foreign secretary William Hague to cancel a trip to Washington DC and instead address the British Parliament."

Microsoft only entered the games console business because they are douchey. Because Sony didn't make one with them

But are they using it? And that's nothing to do with our privacy

Aye, glad you're parting your money with a company who has been hacked and compromised customer information in the past, and recently released an update that bricks consoles.
