I'm getting a new laptop with Windows 8 on Thursday. I looked into it and was appalled; I'm really worried about using it. Most of the posts here are positive, so I'm hoping I'll like it after using it.

Windows 7 for me, I am using W8 on the laptop (as I type this) but it's a huge adjustment with the removal of the start menu I am finding difficult to fully navigate it.
It's the transition that I've found difficult, I know how to use it but it doesn't feel right which was bound to be the case after how long of using the old setup. Im sure it'll become a more comfortable OS for me soon.
I'm not being funny but there's not much to adjust to... I don't understand how people can find w8 hard to navigate? It's not hard...
I prefer the look of windows 7 over 8 so windows 7
I've tried to get along with Windows 8 but I just dont like the start screen. Since Windows 7 does exactly what I want it to do right now I see no point in changing.

I've left, but I still visit sometimes!
I liked the idea of the Metro screen for Windows 8 but I got bored very quick, especially when some apps have a Windows 8 mode and some don't. I just installed Classic Start Menu, let's me bypass that **** and gives me my start menu back.
hands down window 7
I will destroy IsisI got it from my daddy
I like both Windows 7 and Windows 8. even though windows 8 starts up faster. I could use both.
