It's about "The Habbo Way" and by that, it's if you have used a 3rd party tool or not to gain access to this old promotion. By now most people must know that Sulake take 3rd party tools seriously, considering there is a way to-do this without such a forced way of 3rd party tools, it definitely sucks for those people.

Either way, Sulake has never liked anybody taking advantage of their service and they always reserve the right to ban without any given reason.

Just appeal, I imagine if you're polite and explain yourself on how you did this they'll just unban you.

But if these third party tools weren't used then people wouldn't have been able to buy the HC, and by using those 3rd party tools the people who did buy the HC were in breach of the Habbo Way.

Anyone who did this deserved to be banned. It's clearly against the rules and anyone who argues otherwise is simply looking to get themselves, or someone they know, unpermed.

Because people exploited this too by using a clone to
gift their main accounts to avoid bans. They could try work out who did this and who was actually gifted it and just remove it but I guess that's too much hassle

Yeah not those who were gifted it, but those who received it gifted on the same IP as someone who broke the Habbo Way to exploit this should be banned as there is a clear causational link.
