I think the only successful way for it to be seen and replied to etc is if these news reporters were posting the news FIRST. Like any news place, you'd expect it to be news and they're the first the find it like other news reporters (irl) are expected to do, if you get me

Yes but weekly articles aren't technically news, more 'entertainment' pieces designed for a particular audience and much easier to justify posting on the forum as there wouldn't really be 'duplicates' For instance, the recent Habbo thread about the DTL rare, if the news reporters just posted that story then yeah it'd be a duplicate but if they posted an article looking into Habbo's advertising (a lot of complaints in the thread about how they didn't even know about it) then it'd be something different.

It's a nice idea in theory but our news staff never get the story first so they'd just be making duplicate threads

What Tom just said is one of the few reasons I can think of. If duplicate threads are made, the latter of them will be closed and if that ends up being the News Reporters threads which would defeat the whole purpose of having this specific forum for them to post in.

As well as that, there aren't a great amount of News Articles published right now but that's no fault of the staff who're currently there. It's because there is currently no manager and a very small number of staff. Looking at the other forums that you mentioned to me, while they have this in place and articles are getting published, it's still not generating a huge amount of discussion.

I saw @lawrawrrr; post in Spam that General Management are currently working on news/changing it around or whatever. Don't hold me on that because I honestly don't know what they're doing.

By no means am I saying no to your suggestion, just not right now.

Yeah, I agree with you there. There can be news reports on that too but it's very much limited, I'd say.

OT: the comment section gets little attention. I think a good idea would be to allow big content updates to show as a news article as such. (Not just little date updates) now when a new page is published it shows there too. Improving the attention content gets and uses the news system a bit more than it actually is at the moment. (Totally made this about content instead of news my bad)

I remember other sites had a robot which when the news articles which were posted on the site and made a thread on the forum too... Not sure how popular/annoying it would be
