I had to wear one all through high school. Only in winter though.

We had striped ties in primary which were compulsory, I was lazy though and mostly wore an elastic one until the last few years and had a proper one. In secondary school it was navy but wasn't compulsory, the only people who wore them were first years but that's it.

I only had to wear a tie in secondary school so for 5 years. The first 4 years we had ones you do up yourself so no one would do their top button up and then in the final year they changed it. I had to wear a green tie to represent my house colour and it looked pretty cool except it was a clip on one!

Oh in primary school we didnt have one for most of it but then the headteacher brought it in for the whole school, so for our final 2 maybe 3 idk years we had to have one. we had either:

    • normal ones
    • clip on
    • elastic ones

When I started we had a blue tie with white/grey stripes, people got told off for wearing it half way down their shirt. However, some teachers didn't care. Then we got blue clip on ties with the school's intials all over it, someone took mine off as a joke, but then lost it so they had to buy me another. Now the school has changed again so now it looks like my old junior school tie, red with yello stripes.
