After drawing that second symbol about five times, Google did recognise it as what Kardan drew (see pic in my last post) . But it's definitely a fair amount of effort to go through if someone wanted to translate the symbols you put in your pic, not the mention that you'd be wasting time if they weren't real symbols .

you do know theres a keyboard for apple devices where you draw it and it recognises it?

Actually was able to get an almost identicle match for each of your 3 symbols in my second attempt at drawing them ! Here's the result:

well my word was takeaway so as amazing as my chinese was, not good enough to be translated into something meaningful

Oo didn't know that - although if I just use the Google Translate app I can then translate it after the symbols are recognised . I wouldn't use it outside the app, and already have 3 keyboards (English UK, French, Emoji) .

sho and i have plenty more ideas to flesh out and try over the next year or so but we've both been overwhelmed by draw my thing's popularity so i imagine it will be something we'll discuss to re-do again next year.
