Here is the guidance for the essay
BA Project Instructions for My life in Habbo, extended essay APRIL 2014
This essay is about your life in Habbo from the time you first heard about HABBO to today. There are no right or wrong answers. It is your experiences both good and bad over the years. Please give as much detail as possible so the longer the essay the better.
You may also want to consider if Habbo is separate from the rest of your life or if friends from where you live are involved or not. Equally, if there have been times when you participated less in Habbo what was the reason and what made you return.
This information is confidential. Only my colleague carrying out the same research in Finland and I will read this. We are looking for broad themes across the interviews and essays we read to understand the different participation styles. We also want our questionnaire to reflect how Habbo’s speak.
Please read the notes below before writing your essay. We hope this will help you. If you have, any further queries just email [email protected].
PREPARING YOUR EXTENDED ESSAY ABOUT YOUR LIFE IN HABBO.
Memory is one of the issues in trying to remember events that may have happened over an extended period. These activities are designed to aid your recall and so help you write a more detailed essay. Good luck.
1. List in date order the key events that have happened related to Habbo over the years to form a timeline.
2. Do you have any screenshots, videos etc of these events, your Habbo’s over the years, the rooms, or other items you have created in world?
3. If, so how do these fit into the timeline?
4. Once you have prepared this. I would leave it a day or so before writing the essay. You may find other events start coming back to mind. It may help to either add these to the timeline or just jot them down to add later so you do not forget them.
5. Pick a quiet time when you have 2 or 3 hours to spare and start writing your essay. Ideally try to write it all in one go.
6. It would be useful if you could give a short paragraph about yourself at the beginning including; who you are, where you live, family/guardian and friends and what you do at present work/college/school. Please note we will give you a different name e.g. George, age, UK. So you cannot be identified.
7. You may want to leave it a day in case other memories come back. You can then fill these in before emailing the file to me with the completed research permission form.
Format – Please use a Word file with a clear typeface such Aerial or Times Roman 12 and double spaced. Thanks for your help!
As it's titled an "essay" just listing facts wouldn't really fit with the theme but as not everybody is expected to be a top class essayist then I suppose just do what you feel is best.
