Consequences of Aliens

theoretically we made contact with aliens and one day they decided to visit Earth.


What do you think would be the consequences of aliens visiting earth such as socially and politically?

They would try and become humans and then run the country and let their friends come and invade us and we would all be sitting here like oh woops

If they made contact with us they're likely to be more evolved-intelligent life forms. So there's two things that could happen really.. either they rule Earth and we are #2, made to be slaves or got rid of..... or it's all friendly and they go about their business in their own galaxy and we ours.

They'd probably ignore us as they'll find us really annoying.

I don't think there would be war; if they've traveled to us then they would have the weaponry to destroy us before we could even respond


they're either coming to be curious and explore/discover/learn or perhaps coming to find a new home/set of resources for their species. option 1 - we would probably start a fight with them! option 2 - we die

Provided they're not mean aliens, i'd expect half of them to end up in Britain claiming job seekers allowance and disability benefit.

On a serious note though, the chances are that the same would happen to mankind as happened to natives in the Americas/Australia when the Europeans arrived. And for that reason, I think we're immensely stupid to be sending out signals into deep space detailing our location.

Depends on the aliens. Some might be peaceful, some might not. I get the feeling that these aliens would not trust us either way, we'd probably kill one of them and experiment on them if we got the chance.
