Default Closure of Shockwave Client - 5 Years On

As many of you may or not be aware, Sulake announced that they were about to close the old Shockwave client on 3rd November 2009. The client was officially changed the next day, along with the demise of such old features as the big hand and the traditional Hotel View. More information on Habbo Beta on the Wiki.

5 years on, do you think the change to the new Flash client was for the better or for the worse?

I'm not sure if I can say that the new client is "better" or "worse", but I know that I definitely miss the old client a lot.

I'm just very nostalgic for the old days of Habbo, I suppose. There are definitely a lot of cool new features that I think are great (like wired, for example), but a lot of the other things (tons and tons and tons of new furni) I could easily live without.

The Habbo client on shockwave was very limited in terms of the backend changes. Changing to to flash was more for the advancement of the backend and future proofing in my eyes than providing Habbos with a 'better' client.

One 'feature'/'benefit' I enjoy from the new client is the ability to expand it. Habbo is a different experience on both my Macbook Pro vs Desktop.

Many great things have come afterwards, and although it probably has a small amount to do with it, habbo has been on a decline ever since it happened.

While I liked the old client, I prefer the flash - the reason to update from shockwave was to allow more changes - some were for the better and some for the worst. The new client definitely offers a lot more.

It's better in so many ways. it's really irritating when you get all these old school people saying ''bring back the big handd!!! its so much better" when it is clearly drastically inferior to the current capabilities of the inventory lmao.

Loved big band, was in some video for the comp but honestly the 'new' tradebox is way easier, and better.

still, habbo has gone downhill, even more so that casino's have gone :S
