I've cancelled part way through a subscription before, it waits until the end of your billing cycle which in this case is the 3 months

i suppose some people might forget to cancel the subscription or maybe it's just a way of reeling more people in, i've never really used it but heard about it

There won't be a catch but it will do an auto-renewal if you don't cancel it before then. Although it's not really a catch as it does say that in the account pages.
