What's the earliest memory that you can recall?

Mine would probably be two things: A nightmare I had when I was four or so, in it I fell into a load of water and couldn't get out until something (I don't know what) took me out.

Secondly, something somewhat similar also happened to me in reality when I was roughly that age, so perhaps that's why I dreamed the above.

Standing in nursery probably about 3/4 years old painting stuffed tights with red poster paint to make a stuffed Father Christmas for our Christmas play and looking out at the other kinds from the infant school playing in the playground and wishing I was there.

    That is my earliest memory.

Oh, maybe not. I can kind of remember a nightmare and the room I remember it in means I was probably like 2 or younger. But basically it was a large load of bread that would inflate in the corner of the room and then a massive knitting needle would come and pop the bread. That was my earliest nightmare and possibly my earliest memory. I still get that nightmare from time to time.

My earliest memory is from when I must have been about three. I remember discovering you could tell which foot a shoe was for by the way it curved.

I never really know if half my memories are from pictures and I've just formed a memory from that or not. The traumatic experiences stick out to me mostly (can't remember which came first) but either when I got knocked down or falling down the stairs and breaking my leg. With the second one I specifically remember turning my head left and seeing my cousins friend not sure why that sticks out to me so much. I was like 2/3

There are two for me as I'm not sure which happened first.

I remember being in the kitchen near the back door and my mum told me I needed to get ready for playschool, I threw a big tantrum as I hated going there and cried every day! Anyway, I went and as soon as they opened the doors I burst into tears, my mum regrets taking me there now and blames that as the reason I'm shy.

Another, was me and my mum going into a hospital room and my sister's there in this big cot thing even though she's too old for one. There's my dad half asleep on a chair and wakes up when we come in, and my sister's just playfully stood up in the cot with her hands on the top.
