    Thank Mr skeltal

anybody that takes things considered necessities (Internet, electricity, etc) that aren't basic human rights for granted. I love my generation and am envious of those younger than me who are able to grow up in such a developed world where everything is so easy to do.

The only thing I can think of is that people only validate things if it's "official" on Facebook or something.

Technology is all the generation under us is about. I didn't get my first phone until I was in 7th grade.. and it was a rumour flip phone. Nowadays 9 year olds are getting iPhones and that is not okay.

Regarding people's point about technology, I agree. But should we not be blaming parents for this? They are the ones responsible, not the kids.

I completely disagree with people saying about the technology thing. I had a training course and in it the woman kept basically putting us all down and sort of trying to prove that she was better or something by mocking the fact that we obviously all use social media and different technology.
Technology is there and it's available much more than it was. I don't understand why this is a bad thing? Most of you probably met each other by using technology, that's not bad, is it? You see children with things such as autism and stuff all using technology such as iPads and that helps them. Technology is NOT bad at all and I see no problem with younger children using it. When my younger sister got a phone and a DS at a young age, she was still going out, having fun, riding a bike and then she would come home at night and maybe text my grandmother and play on her DS. It is fun, where is the harm in that?
Everyone wants the new thing but just let them want it. Don't be that old witch who kept making fun of us for using social media. Tbh, how else would I speak to my parents and my other family members SUCH AS MY YOUNGER SISTER WHO DOES HAVE AN IPHONE? Drive 3 hours just for a social chat like ahaha.
y'all actin like you're 56 and named Glenis

Like Kyle says though, people shouldn't be taking it all for granted but that should be something people are taught.

i don't think technology is completely harmless, like the majority of people i know will sit on their phones in restaurants or when we're supposed to be having a few drinks and it's just really rude, u will notice it when ur like me and have a **** phone that doesn't have apps and internet and i really do believe it's getting in the way of real life social interaction and shouldn't be used as a replacement for social interaction which many people do. that's where the issues come. cause i can say myself that i have been internet addicted and that it has ruined my life, genuinely when i started getting into habbo i stopped hanging out with real life friends to the point i forgot how to socialise in real life. although i was already starting to get social anxiety and i was vulnerable to it, internet use stood in the way of me getting better for a long time. and i know people without mental illness who get addicted and it still has harmful effects.

also my nephew is 5 and throws huge tantrums if he can't use his tablet and he will use it even when he's supposed to be eating. that's terrifying and before he had his tablet, he would easily stop playing with his toys to go eat. the issue is using it too much and i think a lot of people do (as i stated about using it in situations where you really shouldn't be e.g at a meal).

also the week me and scott didn't have internet at our new place, or the week we were on holiday without internet use, we spent much more time being productive and spending it with each other. now we get in and go straight on the internet then don't spend time with each other until it's bed time. it does/can get in the way of real life relationships. the key is using it moderately and knowing when to stop. but yes it can also be good if you can't contact someone any other way and it can be good for shy people etc but let's not pretend it's completely harmless, especially for vulnerable people like i was.
