Thumbs up A possible DJ comeback? HELP!

Ok, so after a long long long long long time away from Djing, and I've been having a think about coming back.

I use DJ for the old ClubHabbo and HFFM back in the day (5 years ago). Obviously things have changed a huge amount since, and I was wondering if any possible DJ's could fill me in on the latest software! I use to have SAM 2? Not sure if that's even still about anymore, and if it is about, is there a new broadcaster out?

It's early stages yet, but it's seems likely I would apply to the next DJ Applications Openings - as long as I have all the correct software etc.

Thanks for all the help in advance!

Hiya!! It does seem like a long time about 5 years when you think about it. Great to see you joining though, woo!!

Although I don't DJ very often I still use SAM 2 because I have issues working any more advanced ones, although 4 is much much nicer if it works for you!!!

Besides I actually like SAM 2, it's really simple and although a bit old fashioned still does the same job for the most part.

Yeah, I'm sure I will be a little rusty but will soon wipe the dust off! I removed SAM off my PC so I will have to download again, if I someone could link me to the most recent one, see if that works, if not I'll use an older version that would be great!

    Thanks for the kind words

~ If you prefer new software you are best to take sam 4 (Though I still use sam 2 and had no issues with it).
You can ask the DJs or Radio Management to send you a copy of sam to download.

~ Also to make sure you are set in the department properly you will be best to read the DJ Handbook and update yourself in what you know and don't remember. Even if you have been a DJ before it is always good to refresh your memory.

~ Make sure your songs are good quality and not songs converted. Specially from youtube. If you need songs you can always ask the DJs and I am sure they will give you a hand on this. =).

~ Microphone quality is a must as well. Listeners don't want to listen to a staticky mic so they tend to tune out.

~ Playing Jingles or your own jingles to help promote your shows and Habbox/Habboxlive is always something nice to have in your sam to play during on air. Also it is something the Head DJ+ looks at as well for promoting the fansite.

~ Checking requests/shoutouts is a must. Obviously you must know this as it is important.

~ Checking if there are any events going on and if so to advertise in on your show which helps the community overall.

~ Hosting competitions is not obligated but helps a lot. I am not sure for the funding but if you cant afford it there might be a way to help you for this.

~ The most important of all is to Have Fun =)

I might miss a few parts as I am slightly tired and sorry if you already know this just wanted to give a little hand.

Be careful what you wish for!

yeh I still use sam2 because i've used it for years now so it's just easier
I ave sam4 that I can send you know if you'd like it
only trouble with sam4 is roughly each month you need to open sam reset (it's not much effort at all it's just an application you double click then a pop up box will appear and you press ok then done)
but it's just whether you'll remember to do it haha it doesnt have to be every month, just whenever you remember really but you can't leave it longer than a month as it expires after 30 days
I have .rar with the sam, reset and key all in anyway i'm back from school at 9 today though so if you add my skype (I pmed you) I can send you the files

in terms of DJing though all you need is
    - a fair amount of good quality song
    - a good quality microphone
    - a habbo acc pls
    - and then sam p much
that's it really. if you don't have sam I thought of an idea which is gonna start tomorrow or friday but means you'll be able to have a choice of plenty good quality songs if you don't already so don't worry if you dont current have any - please dont go ripping off youtube bc makes me want to rip out my eyes when DJs are silly and do it from the music video??? like ok its one thing ripping from youtube but don't be an idiot and do it so we can hear the video ;ll
however considering you have a fair amount of experience i'm sure you know a lot of this anyway
i'd warn you though habbox is currently fairly dead so myself and @despect; are trying to pick it up. so far its ok though so if you're still interested we'd love if you applied!
if you need any help with anything just let me know on here or on skype and i'll get back to you soon
@Rachel; basically said a lot that needed to be said, a lot more than I did anyway so def look at what she said
she knows what shes talking about being an ex hdj and all

    take care x
