Only good thing I can think about using retros would be to play Battle Ball, Snowstorm, Wobble Squabble, etc
Haven't done this myself though

I overall think that the bad things outweigh the good things in term of retros.
They can be a blast from the past for those who have used Habbo for a long time.
Someone earlier mentioned for Battleball and Snowstorm and even Trax!
It also can be interesting to see what type of tools Habbo moderators have to their advantage.
I gotta disagree with some, i feel retros are a way for the noobier people to actually express themselves, i know i wasn't the richest when i played habbo and that limited me when i built. But having all furni as an option allowed me to create good rooms, and I'm not bragging but I dont make like nooby rooms so this really helped. And also anytime you log onto habbo there is fighting going on i'm not positive if it's the same but it most likely is. But on retros fighting isn't that popular, people honestly could care less about people and I've actually made a lot of friends on retros because the people actually want to talk about life. So in general I truly do enjoy retros.

The thing is rares are still rares, there is still limited edition that's what adds to the retro, there's a market and betting still.

I played some, for a short time, old habbo ones, as I joined after the beta I wanted to know how things was. If you not spending cash on habbo, retros are a good place to build and they have building comps that are far better than habbo's. Some retros have what people lack on habbo, a good management and staff team. Since the Global Mute I feel like every campaign and every staff is just stupid and boring. Mods Love Lock Marathon? Kill me.
bunch of people have asked me if i go on retros because apparently someone impersonates me on one of them!! anyway never seen the appeal since habbo is about the community first. i fully support habbo shutting down any that take in revenue, even if it is non-profit as you're essentially stealing an organisation's customers.
i'm more than fine with using them as sandbox hotels to act as an expanded builders club though, just long as you use them to enjoy the real hotel rather than replace.

I know what you mean, but you've also got to consider the context. Campaigns are aimed at Habbo's target audience, the young teens, not over 18s like us.
I can guarantee that 25 year old Attached wouldn't have any interest in the events and campaigns that 11 - 20 year old Attached might've enjoyed from 2002 - 2010. Haha saying that... I didn't find out about the Love Lock Marathon until the last day, which annoyed me as I would've really liked to have collected the full set. Typical!
Community is the word I will use, below is my explanation of that.
There are many pros and cons towards playing official and playing retros, those who prefer one or the other are most likely to choose their selection because of the community within. If you've been playing official for x amount of years and you know loads of people, why are you going to login to retros and know nobody/start from fresh? The same being for retros to official, it's especially hard because of the large amount of people within the official hotel.
The major disadvantages are for younger people, that's because retros don't have professional paid moderation. Filters, automated alert tools and other moderation tools are used by a group of paid people, vs in retros a group of 'cool kids' who have earned the right to moderate.
I'm not against retros and would consider myself to be known within that community however I will admit retros have somewhat lost their original value, many of them creating income while others are simply covering their server costs.
I see an retro as copied.
Personally saying I didn't like them would definitely make myself a hypocrite, because I did however play one just because a friend of mine did.
If I talked to my friends the way I talk to my body I'd have no friends."
