Today, the Old Firm derby returned to to Scottish football as both teams battled it out for a place in the Scottish Cup Final. Rangers had many vital players missing with them being cup tied or injured. So, Celtic went in favourites being champions of Scotland after all. Pundits all over the world expected them to beat Rangers heavily, same old, same old, not like Rangers to be disliked by pundits. Anyway even if you were a neutral supporter what an incredible game.
Kenny Miller opened the scoring in the first half, Rangers dominated the full game against the champions of Scottish Football. Ended the half 1-0 with Rangers having 70% possession. Manchester City's 12m star Patrick Roberts missed an open goal which was a huge let off for Rangers.
Slow start from Rangers in the second half, conceded early from a corner and Celtic get back in the game. We dominate the game but just can't find a way to goal and full time it ends 1-1.
5 minutes into ET, wee Barrie McKay, (goals below) scored a screamer into the top left to make it 2-1 and then again minutes later Celtic make it 2-2. The fierce Old Firm derby heads for penalties.
It ended 5-4 on pens with Rangers missing 2 and Celtic missing 3. Absolutely incredible for Rangers, winning promotion to the top flight 2 weeks ago, winning a cup final last week and into the Scottish Cup final. The feel good factor is back!
