    FBI re-opens investigation into Hillary Clinton email scandal ten days before Presidential Election

    Donald Trump called the stunning announcement "bigger than Watergate", and Mrs Clinton appeared blindsided by the news, declining to mention it during a rally in Iowa.

    James Comey, the FBI director, wrote to members of Congress informing them that new emails had been found that were "pertinent to the investigation" into Mrs Clinton.

    The emails were found during an investigation into illicit text messages between Anthony Weiner, the former congressman, and a 15-year-old girl, according to the New York Times. Huma Abedin, Mr Weiner's husband, is one of Mrs Clinton's closest aides.

    Mr Comey had closed the investigation into Mrs Clinton's email practices in July after determining there was insufficient evidence that she had knowingly put America's secrets at risk by using an unsecured server to conduct government business. Mr Comey said at the time that Mrs Clinton had been "extremely careless" but that no criminal charges were warranted.

    Mr Trump spoke in New Hampshire just minutes after the announcement, and his supporters roared and broke into chants of "lock her up" as he relayed the news.

    He applauded the FBI for having the "courage" to re-open the investigation, and said he hoped the agency would correct the "horrible mistake" it had made in recommending that Mrs Clinton not be indicted.

    "Hillary Clinton's corruption is on a scale we have never seen before. We must not let her take her criminal scheme into the Oval Office," the Republican nominee said.

    Mrs Clinton and her inner circle were all on board a plane and without Internet access when Mr Comey's letter emerged. Reporters on board said her staff was unaware of the news before landing in Iowa for a rally.

    The Democratic nominee remained on the plane for 25 minutes after landing, apparently huddling with staff to determine how to respond. She did not address the revelations after taking the stage.
    Let's hope this awful woman loses. The polls suggest a Democrat win but who knows.

    Whilst Trump isn't perfect and certainly was not my choice, he's the antidote to suffocating political correctness that America needs. He'll also annoy all the right people if he wins (think Brexit). In addition and more importantly: he wants to make mends with Russia whereas Hillary Clinton is literally a warhawk, she's even compared President Putin to Hitler. She'll make Bush & Obama look like peace candidates. I genuinely worry what she'll drag the west into in terms of confrontation with Russia.

    For the sake of world peace and of British interests, lets hope The Donald pulls it off.

    I predicted the EU results to the percentage, so if my prediction skills (totally wasn't a lucky guess . . .) are just as good for the US - Trump will win BIG LEAGUE (not bigly!)

    Very interesting to see the investigation reopened, I didn't expect that. Will certainly cause her to lose some of her votes.

    Won't make a difference to the results, everyone's known who they're voting for for months

    The problem is I always wanted a politician who spoke his own mind wasn't scared of his own shadow and we got trump. The problem is that politics is often about negotiations, sometimes having to make comprises. Trump seems to keep getting himself into trouble and doesn't know when to shut up

    There will be many closet voters to Trump, the actual backing he has I think is more than what's been made out to be so far.

    That said, the same could be said for Hillary Clinton but it's mad that they're even possible candidates given how much shady shit has come out the past few months.

    Oh yeah definitely it'll be closer than it looks just by reading what social media users say, but I very much doubt anyone at this stage will be swayed one way or another - if you say to someone who's planning to vote one way "but look at what X did" the response is more than likely going to be "at least they aren't Y doing Z". Hillary's supporters know already that she's a massive crook with shady dealings all over the place and Trump's supporters know that he's bankrupted more businesses than he can count and has the mindset of a 1950s casino manager, but one thing about humans is that we're very good at sticking to what we've decided on no matter what we're told and no matter how poorly we made that choice in the first place

    @RyRy;
    @FlyingJesus;

    Indeed, a lot of people are just going by what their social media echo chamber is saying. Look how that worked out in June...

    Whilst like with the referendum I really don't know and can only place faith in polling, I certainly think that perhaps the possibility of the white working class who do not usually vote swaying behind Trump as they did with Leave could deliver a big surprise.

    Already seeing a few polls today with a swingback.

    I just think who is going to be more motivated (as with the referendum) to vote. Trump or Clinton supporters? We all know who.
